This Week At The Studio....March 21st

This week at the studio, I worked on two new designs. Both are birthday cards, I try to update my birthday designs by adding a two new ones each year.
The "Birthday Guitars" design was inspired by jazz poster designs from the '50's and '60's. I've been listening to a lot of jazz from that period. The film I am writing now also features such music, so it seemed like a logical influence.
The "Birthday Bike" design was influenced by the beautiful weather these last few days here in Portland. I'm vowing to finally get my bike out of the basement and do some riding this summer.
I also re-designed the "Let's Roll" roller skate card. I wanted to add a little more retro to it, so in addition to the original design, I added the background.
In an attempt to expand, I've been working at printing some of my designs on t-shirts. It's always a little tough to pick up a new medium and I find myself impatient with the learning curve! But I'm taking another stab at it this week and I am hoping to have the t-shirts released early April.
Finally, I am also looking to do more prints and am working at a "Home is Where I Am" print that should also be released in April.
Less printing this week - I'll be working at creating the designs for the shirts and completing the "Home" print. Unfortunately, I have less time to devote to Two Guitars this week - some film work is competing for my attention, but soon I will put in more time to get ready for the two big spring shows coming up - Crafty Wonderland here in Portland and Renegade in Austin, Texas.
Cheers!
